In this blog you will find my students work using SOLE from when I was teaching.
Can you tell which students put the most effort into their work? Who is autistic? Who has a learning disability? Who has a behavioural issue In the class? They are all equals when it comes to SOLE.
This blog is a resource to put my thoughts and learning about education.

What is Global Warming?
Emily, Lindsay, Marlene and Alison
Global warming is the increase of the earth’s
average surface temperature. Scientists agree the main cause of global warming is the
human expansion of the "greenhouse effect”. People say when a baby is born
today, when they are 80 years old the world will be 6 and a half degrees warmer
than it is now. Global warming is a problem of too much carbon dioxide. The greenhouse effect is the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's
lower atmosphere. In the past 50 years the average temperature in the USA has
gone up by 2 degrees. The largest cause of
global warming is the carbon dioxide released when fossil fuels such as oil and
coal are burned for their energy. The atmosphere is the gases that surround the
earth. Some of the other reasons why global warming is caused is, carbon
dioxide and other air pollution [greenhouse gases] is collecting in the
atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun's heat and causing the
earth to warm up.
Here are 10 ways to stop global warming:
Replacing one regular light bulb
with a compact fluorescent light bulb Walk, bike, and carpool to get to
places Recycle more Check your tires, keeping your
tires properly inflated Use less hot water Avoid products with a lot of
packaging Adjust your thermostat Plant a tree Turn off electronic devices
be conscious one day?
Matthew, Harper, Jumah
Robots don’t have feelings like we do. Robots may or
may not be conscious one
day but scientist don’t know. Computers can’t handle any process and a robot is
like a computer so they cannot be conscious. They are making robots that have
feelings so they can be conscious. Sometimes when robots are shut down they can
dream (SOMETIMES). Some
scientists think that robots will never have feelings like we do, but it is not
100% correct that they will not have feelings.
Generally, we say that robots don’t have feeling and
so they can’t behave like us humans. Some Scientists say that robots that have
been made are harmless. That may not be true. Some people say on the internet
that there will be a robot invasion but it is known to be not true.

Why Are Some Students Not Active At Recess?
Matthew, Jenson, Tyson, and josh
They might not be active because that person has no
friends. They might be lazy. They might have a video game they want to play.
They might just not be active. That person might have nothing to do. They might
be sad. They might be mad. They could be bullied and want to be away from the
bully. The person that is not active might not know how to play some of the
games there friends are playing. The person that is not active might be sick so
they are staying still wrapped up with their coats. The person that is not
active might be injured.
Why Do We Need Big Houses to Live in?
by Emma and Heaven
People buy larger homes for a number of reasons such
as they outgrow their smaller houses, they get a raise at work and spend their
money on a larger home, they hope to impress others and they think a large home
is the home of their dreams.
Usually when people get more money they think that
just because they have a lot of money they can spend it on big home.
But a lot of people buy smaller homes for a number of
reasons such as it is easier to clean, it is less expensive and there is less
Can Trees Think
Trees can think by using internal communications. They can also memorize
different types of light. The leaves communicate through the tree. Plants can
sense, warn and remember. Some people say that plants have all the same senses
that humans do. Trees are able to remember stuff and the react to it. If a leaf
is full of starch it harder to communicate everyone. Starch is when odorless,
tasteless goo which fill the leaves up with it.
