The Coat of Arms of Canada
By Abi, Mia, Jaylah
The coat of arms is a unique heraldic
design. It was used by medieval knights to cover, protect, and identify. The
colours can trace their history to the first crusade of the 11th
century. The various parts of the coat of arms have different meanings like crown
standing for Canada being a constitutional monarchy or and crest standing for
the sovereignty of Canada or supporters stand for Canada’s option to oppression.
The lion and the unicorn on the crest represent the United Kingdom. The coat of
arms is a symbol of a collection usually represented upon a shield that
indicates the traits of a particular family. It is a practice called heraldry which
includes researching and describing traits of the coat of arms and recording them
for a reference. The wording on the coat
of arms means From Sea to Sea.

Official Lyrics of O
Canada!
Lyrics O Canada
(English version)
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With
glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
The True North strong and free!
From far
and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep
our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada,
we stand on guard for thee.
Lyrics O Canada
(French version)
« O
Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix!
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits. »
